What is Android Firewall?

Yesterday i got a task for write about "Android Firewall", though i know the basic characteristic of Firewall, that it is for security purpose, but i am confused is there, any similarity in the Usual Definition and Android firewall or it is a type of Android Apps, please help me out of this?
