Messages Not Showing or Updating Late in iOS 7.1

I just updated my iPhone 5s to iOS 7.1 and I notice that I'll send a message (seen in Kik and Instagram besides iMessage) and it'll either send and not show that there's a message from me, or it'll show after the person I'm talking to has already responded. Almost like the phone restarted and then showed the message I sent. Not sure if anyone else is having an issue like this.

I haven't come across this personally or read anything like this so far

Assuming you had no problems before the update I would suggest you do a full restore via iTunes

I haven't seen any issues so far but I always check to make sure my settings haven't been adjusted. If everything is set as you like, I advise you do a reboot by holding the home & power buttons simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. The phone will restart on its own. Hopefully, this helps!!
