Problem with opening newly downloaded app

Running an ipad2- I have downloaded 4 apps recently. Dropbox, two games and a photo editor. The download process appears appropriate but after it completes the app is not found anywhere but in the General section under Usage. I have then deleted them and tried again to download two of them with the same results. Any ideas?

This happened to me not too long ago. Delete the affected apps, reboot your iPad by holding the home and power buttons simultaneously until you see the Apple logo, then reinstall the apps. This solution helped me, hopefully it will help you as well!!!
