Contact your carrier and request an unlock (if the phone is not under contract)...or find an expensive private party unlock service (they average between $100-$200 and do not serve all carriers).

If it's Sprint, you're pretty much without options. If it's T-Mobile, they are usually pretty good about getting you the unlock code. As for AT&T, I don't know how hard it would be. If it's Verizon, I think their models are already unlocked (Not 100% sure).

Good luck.

AT&T requires the phone to be off contract to even discuss unlocking, and then require you to submit a form from their website to get it done (can take up to 5 days from what it says on their site).

Can you still use a third party unlocking service though?
