cannot update my software

I have a notice that I have a software update. However, when I try, I get a screen that says: Unable to Check for Update /an error occurred while checking for a software update. Try again.

I try again, same. I hit cancel, same. The notice does not go away.

What's wrong?

Was your phone purchased in the UK, Europe, or Asia Pacific regions? Is your phone a 5C or 5S? If no to both - there is no update for you.
