Hi, to check my emails it is saying cannot connect to server, can you let me know what to do. I got an iPad

Are you connected to the internet?
Are you connecting through wifi or a carrier?
Have you connected before, or is this the first time?
Do you have an Apple ID?

Barring any network issues beyond your control,

1. Are you connected to the internet either via cellular data or via Wi-Fi?
2. If you are, and whichever one you're connected to, try connecting via the other.

Does this happen for every website or just a specific one?

Make sure you have your wifi switch toggled on...green....
Look for 'wifi' under settings to check this.
