Password word on laptop itunes account, but not on my phone

I have turned my phone on and off.
I have reset the password time and time again. The password works with iTunes, but not on my iphone, so I can't download aps, and I can't update aps.
I have reset all of my phone settings.
I bought iCloud thinking it would make a difference.

Is there a simple solution to this maddening problem!

Are you sure that you are typing the password exactly the same as you set it up as? You didn't need to buy extra data on iCloud to fix this. Good luck.
