getting text messages from iphone 4s to ipad mini

how do I set up the ipad mini to receive my text messages from my iphone 4S onto the ipad mini?

You can't. If you get iMessages then you can. Just use your Apple ID for iMessages on both devices. Don't use your phone number on the iPhone.

Correct about iMessages only on my mini retina I use my phone number and my 2 emails to be contacted and every iMessage I get on my phone goes right to my mini virtually at the same time.

I'm not getting my iMessages from other iPhone users. My iPad is under my husbands account and it shows his phone number on my iPad. Could that be why? If so how do I change the number? Thanks!

They both have to be set up with identical information for them to work with each other. Both devices have to have the same number and email. If you go under messages where it it says send and receive if that is where his number is it should be changed to yours.
