How do I delete an app?

Tap and hold on an app and tap on the little x to delete it.

Go to your home screen by pressing the home button, then hold your finger on the app, once the other apps start to wiggle around let go and press the X icon over the app, please note that certain apps can't be deleted as they are built into the phone itself.

The ones that can't be deleted he is talking about are native apps but also presuming you have the app in iTunes, Also make sure you delete it from there as well even though you would get a warning during your next sync, It does not hurt to just delete it in advance.
