iphone 4s won't play itunes songs

when I try to play songs from iTunes all that happens is that it shuffles rapidly (without playing anything) through the songs and then quits. this use to be my daughter's phone and then she got a new one and gave hers to me. It worked perfectly until we switched it over to my account.

Try rebooting the phone.

Reboot the phone. Hold the power button and home button until you see the Apple logo then release. Good luck.
