My iPad is deleting my emails even before I can read them. It must be in my settings but I do not know how to correct this, please help me.

What is the name of the email service? iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook/Windows Live, AOL or what? If you have your email setup via exchange, there should be an option called, "Mail Days to Sync". If available, tap on it and make the appropriate change.
