apple tv and hotspot combo

I am looking to rid myself of the burden of monthly cable costs (TV, Phone and Internet) and substitute with Apple TV and a Hot-spot data plan. What does the average household (2 young childern and 2 adults) use monthly for data ? What should I be paying for to have enough coverage for my regular data use?

The AppleTV really needs some sort of connection to a home network that has a connection to the internet that is not a cellular-based connection because of the tremendous bandwidth video streaming will consume. One two-hour HD movie will obliterate a 2GB data cap on a cellular plan. My $0.02

The answers you seek depends a good deal on your location or region. In regard to using an Apple TV, I don't recommend swapping out a cable internet connection in lieu of a hotspot feature unless you can have unlimited usage for a set price and no throttling of speeds.
