text sent to email address comes backto my phone

hello,

i've set up my gmail account as a contact in my phone. i have been forwarding text messages I receive to that gmail account with no problem until two weeks ago. Now when I try to forward a text from my phone to that email address, the text comes back to my phone. So I receive it back as a new text. Any ideas?

Is your email associated with your iMessage account? If so, unassociate it or disable iMessage while sending text to your email.
