iOS7 upgrade has "broken" Gmail on iPhone 4S & iPad2

My Gmail won't work properly (deletes sentences, inserts letters in-between words which I must repeatedly re-type) since upgrading to iOS7 on both my iPhone4S and iPad2. It's very frustrating and time-consuming. Can I downgrade to iOS 6 or will that disrupt my current apps? If so, how would I do this? I wouldn't have upgraded in the first place, but thought it was "mandatory" for certain programs to function optimally. Please help!

You can't go back to a prior version iOS.

Is your issue with the gmail app or the stock Apple Mail app? Whichever it is... you can try the other for accessing gmail.

If the suggestion above doesn't work, there is alwayd the mobile web application version of gmail you can access on safari or chrome but obviously thats not optimal but hey, its an option
