Slower after update

Hi..Love the phone, but last night after an update and restart there is a problem that wasn't there before the update. When I press start button the option "slide to unlock" takes longer to appear.Its frustrating because it used to come up instantly and now there is a noticeable delay. Any help would be appreciated.

How much longer? A second? two seconds? When I press either the home or power button, I am shown the "slide to unlock" option in a second or less.
