Since I upgraded to Mavericks, quicktime no longer plays my .flv files. When I double click an .flv file, quicktime will convert it to a .mov file and force me to save in mov format. I have VLC installed, but it was way easier to use quicktime because I could have multiple files open at once. Has anyone experienced this problem? Did Mavericks stop support for certain file formats in quicktime?

Thanks for the link. I didn't see any alternatives though. I work on flash cartoons and I have a lot of .flv files. For QuickTime to suddenly not play them is a huge deal for me.

i am having the same issue with .avi files. when i double click a movie in .avi it automatically starts converting to .mov. is this normal? is there a setting i need to change to stop this from happening. it never did that before upgrading to mavericks.

any help would be much appreciated!
