I live in Canada. I am traveling to Australia. It has been suggested that if I take my iphone I will be able to text to Canada at no charge. How is that done? I do not intent to use my iphone to make telephone calls while I am in Australia.

I lived in Australia for a year (just got back in February) and I didn't know of such a thing. If you get a pay as you go data plan, you can iMessage to people in Canada with iDevices for a tiny usage of data. Or using kik or whatsapp or something

Also, this will only work if your phone is unlocked or has an unlocked SIM port. Which model iPhone do you have?
