Just won't download.....help!

Ok, So I just got an iPod Touch 5G and I tried downloading the iOS 7, but it got stuck for 2 hours and then it said there was an error, then for the past 2 hours it has been stuck, and moves about once every hour.... It also keeps saying 15 minutes remaining, 4 hours left, 10 hours left, etc. Should I just let it try to update overnight? Is there a way to cancel and start over? What if it doesn't ever download? Is that my iPod's fault or the iOS 7's? Sorry for all the questions, just kinda frustrated. Thanks for the help in advance!!

Do you have a computer with iTunes installed? Maybe backing up and restoring through iTunes is a better option for you.

Yes. Use iTunes to install iOS 7.

Open iTunes. Plug in device. Hit restore.

Make sure to back up your device with iCloud or by hitting backup in iTunes first. To backup with iTunes, right click on your device in the sidebar and select backup.
