Apple tv 2 will not restore

i currently have a apple tv 2 it is jailbroken on 5.0.1 I was running into alot of issues so I was just gonig to restore and re-jailbreak anyways i tried the new itunes, wouldn't reconize it when launched program, through research found out that I had to run itunes 10.7 so I did that, the only way it would reconize it on there was if i put it into DFU mode and after doing that I went to restore after about 5 mins into the restore I get a error 1604 could not restore apple tv. My apple tv now doesn't work at all, when plugged into tv i just get the itunes icon with a cord saying to connect to itunes. Please Hellpp!!

Were you trying to restore to 5.0.1 or 7.x?
