How do I factory reset my phone

I keep trying and it just keeps showing the turn off circle (The thing that looks like the youtube buffering sign)
I want to do it without updating to iOS 7

Settings > General > Reset all content and settings

If that doesn't work, turn the phone on and off and try again.

If that doesn't work hold the power and home button until the Apple logo shows up, and try again.

If THAT doesn't work....welcome to iOS 7!

I've already tried all those things...I don't want iOS 7 its horrible plus no jailbreak

I don't think you can reset everything if you are jailbroken. It's a software glitch.
