I don't really play games on my device except for solitaire and spades. My favorite apps are theScore, Pandora, Tunein Radio, Spotify, iTunes Radio, Shazam, Keeper, Facebook and the Bible.

You've got to have the go to's like fb, twitter etc. It really depends on your interest. If you like music you should really check out this app called moodagent, it's free in the app store and it pick's music to play from your own collection, based on your mood. Another good one is the google app, it more than rivals Siri (ok, for me better than Siri because the voice recognition is awesome!) One of my fav's is "pimp my screen" it's a free unique retina wallpaper app for iphone or ipad!
There's a ton of apps out there and a lot are free, just go to the app store and check out whatever interests you.
