iPhone CrApp List
This is a list of apps that I have downloaded to review, but for whatever reason I have declined to do a full review of them. Reasons can include (but are not limited to):
- too buggy
- too slow/time consuming
- pointless app
- false advertising
- to complicated
- user interface doesn't work
Basically, it is just a list of apps that if I reviewed them, they probably would get at most two stars. Keep in mind this is subjective - it is my opinion. Others may like one of these apps for some reason.
If you see an app on this list that you want to have reviewed, just drop me a PM and I will try to do it. If you have apps that you would consider CrApp, feel free to post. Try to limit them to apps that are really the low of the low - don't just include an app because you didn't like the game or something.
I will list the app, the price (when I post it), and a one phrase reason why it is on the list.

Lil John app gets the CrApp list for me. Downloaded it to make some friends laugh with "YEAH!" "WHAT!" "OKAY!" and it almost never produces any actual sound. FAIL!

Tazer - listed as a "safety device" (hopefully in jest) but all it does it buzz.

I agree that many of the apps are useless and a waste of disk space, but it all depends on what you are using the phone for. Working in the retail store, I have seen people buy the phone simply because of the lightsaber app. Young teenage girls usually have about four pages of apps that I have never heard of. The great thing about the app store is that there is something for everybody.

App Store is so cheap
Who would have known we would buy games and some worthwhile applications for 0.99 cents or would even get them for FREE. and even than some people complain....
One dollar is like half a candy bar or something.
Appstore is a great and fun revolution. - 03-06-2009, 08:07 PM #15

Spoof Call... useless to the 3rd power. It's an app that "goes off" in with 9 seconds to ask as you have a real call. If you're the type to "show your phone" to others when a call comes in then this can work, lol.
Unless it's me (user error), it doesn't ring for me it. It says it is suppose to. App Deleted! - 03-25-2009, 04:24 PM #17

MobileChat gets the crapplist for me!
This app is pointless. You can't set up SMS notifications because the keypad doesn't show up for you to type in your phone number. I was excited when this came out since beejive wasn't available yet. Well, I abandoned it quickly due to sign in issues and their server being craptastic.
I just recently bought beejive a few days ago (was just using the free AIM app), but decided I wanted all my messengers on my phone. Well I readded mobilechat to my phone to see if it improved at all int he past 5 months, and nope, it still sucks. I can't believe apple is still letting them charge and host an app that is complete crap. Given it was only 2.99, the point is they're making profit off a product that doesn't do what it's intended to do, and then they make excuses as to why they won't pull it. Promising fixes that never come.
I'm a little bitter I paid 15.99 for beejiveIM, but it's by far the best app out there messenger wise and well worth every penny if you are a heavy IMer. And when push notifications are released, it'll just be that much better. - 04-08-2009, 08:22 PM #23

I heard that too. I paid as well, and was quite disappointed. a lot of people argued and got refunds, for me, the 2.99 wasn't worth the 10 minute hold on the phone w/ the apple store, lol
i remember it being decent on installer, but back then, not even a fraction of iPhone users jailbroke their phones, so they probably didn't have a load, but a good dev and network specialist should know putting an app in the app store is going to create LOADS of traffic on your servers, and the fact that they weren't prepared for that, and just keep making excuses is pretty elementary. - 04-09-2009, 10:09 AM #25
