Best software for converting videos (DVD) for use on iPhone?

I got the iPad on lauch day as a work, media, move and gaming platform. So far better than average bear. I ripped my entire movie collection at the highest level possible so I could have the ability to have iPad and iPhone copies (just convert to iPhone version).

With that said I have been using Handbrake for a few years, works pretty well, but every once in a while it gets stuck and stops responding on certain discs. Is it something built into the DVD, bad DVD (scratches, etc) or something totally different?

I have no issue purchasing more comprephensive app to port my home collection for portable use, but what has the highest level of quality and success.

hmm, you can try iFunia iPhone video Converter, I read the news that now that it adds iPhone 4 options:
I got the iFunia free YouTube Downloader worked very well for me, hope it also can do some help for you.

You can use either Videora or Handbrake to rip DVDs. Both are free.

+1 for handbreak. When compared to all the converters I've used it seems to have the least trouble and produces the highest quality.

I absolutely agree.
Normally, I prefer paid software because free alternatives are usually inferior, but in this case, I really prefer Handbrake, it works excellent.
