watchOS 3.1 is now available from Apple Watch app > General > Software Update.

About this Updated lists a few of the points of the Update. iOS10.1 is out also, but doesn't appear to be needed for the Watch update.

Sure. All you need is the profile.

This is a general release, not a developer release.

any battery life improvement on WatchOS 3.1?
Too soon for me to tell. I spent the day upgrading my Watches and phone. Later today, I'll upgrade Sierra, too.

I don't know what they did but I went from having to charge daily to being left with 60% at the end of my work day with 3.1. Personally as long as I make it through my total day I'm fine because I charge nightly. But it's good to know on those days where I'm up moving around later that I don't have to worry about charging. Crazy how a software update made such a difference.

Yeah, but it happens all the time. Sometimes with MacBooks, but more often with iDevices.

Yes I definitely saw an improvement yesterday in battery life. 18 hours is usage and still had 65% battery remaining.

This is my first venture into the Apple Watch world. But I've had iPhones since the 4. I've never seen such a dramatic increase. Usually I don't notice much of a difference in terms of battery life on my phones or iPads. (I've also had iPads since the first one).

I'm glad it worked out for you. Battery life is a roller coaster for sure. There are always people who seem to suffer poor battery life with a new product or OS update. I don't think I've ever been impacted. Battery life in all my iDevices has been pretty standard, in keeping nearly with Apple specs. It helps that after a few weeks of use, that I turn off something that I don't use, but by no means strip down the functionality.

My routine with the AWS2 hasn't changed from my original AWs, so maybe I should make a point of checking battery life. But so far, LG.

Happens from time to time after a reboot. They should come back though...

How can I get my watch out of beta?

I went into the Watch app on the phone, deleted the beta profile, then restarted both the Watch and phone. That did it.

I've tried that the beta update keeps on showing up. Do I just need to wait till regular version catchers up to the beta currently installed

Yes. Sorry, I should have been more clear. This doesn't immediately get you out of the beta version. It allows you to get the Public Release when the next update shows up, instead of offering you only the next Dev Beta.

You deleted the beta profile on the watch (not using the watch itself but the watch app) and it still gave you the beta?

When I received the watch, right away, 3.1 was available and I downloaded it. Its one been one day, but it didn't even last me eight hours! Now some things to note. everything was on default, so background refreshment was on and all that jazz. Wondering if this a problem other people with the same watch have experienced?
Another quick question, as I'm still new to this. So I have a friend who has a watch and and we do the sharing of activity rings. Well when I received a notification of her ring completion, I noticed mine hadn't move! So what gives? The motion thing in setting is turned on (not a total noob) but it doesn't record anything I read it doesnt track regular steps and only those that would be workout related. Is that true. I walk all day for my job and thought it would be cool to see how many steps and calories I earn and burn.
    Thanks.

Give it time. I had a day where my watch died before the end of the work day, but every other day has been good
