    Question for everyone.

On the previous Apple Watch and iOS, if you pressed the side button (not the crown), you got a list of your fav contacts. This was a quick way to access, text, and make calls.

With the new iOS, it seems this feature is gone.

Am I missing something or is there a way to get that feature back?

    Thank you

No way to get it back. It was removed in favor of the dock.

True. I liked the feature, but giving it the sole function of the side button didn't make sense. Both the crown and the side buttons all have dedicated functions, and even double-taps are already used.

Maybe there will be a Favorites app that you can keep in the Dock. I tried putting Contacts in the Dock but no go. There's always Siri, though you might not want to say the party's name out loud.

Yeah I really miss the easy access to favorite contacts. Wish there is another way to easy access the contacts from the watch.

This statement has me curious. Are you saying you have a Contacts app on your watch? I don't nor do I see a way to add it.

I started to add Contacts to the Dock and realized there is no Contacts app on the phone, and it can't be added. Maybe in wOS4?

There might (?) be a third-party contacts app (Apple is picky about apps that duplicate their apps functions) that could be put in the Watch and its Dock.

This is kind of funny to me -

Original OS: the contact list is so important that we devote one of the watch's two buttons to accessing it

OS3: the contact list is so unimportant that there isn't even an app for it on the watch

Hope Apple will add it in the next update.

I think it was a matter of Apple trying to figure out just how the masses would use the Watch. I think far, far more complaints were made about the single function of the button than the loss of Favorites. There's also the question of how many people would really need a Favorites app when making a call from the Watch wouldn't be the most common use, at least after the novelty wore off.

And while the loss of Favorites is lamentable, I think Apple made much better use of that button. Favorites could easily make a comeback and the Dock is a good place for it. And we still have Siri.

You can always add a phone icon to one of your watch faces. Add all the important people to your favorites in your phone app on the phone, and they show up when you select the phone app on your watch.
