Apple watch face

I dont understand why apple cant add a digital watch with seconds. The most obvious face is missing.

A lot of people would like to see it. Obviously not enough though for Apple to do it for us.

My money says Apple believes it inelegant for any use but a stopwatch, and on a Watch face, that function is best served by the seconds hand.

I generally agree with this, but they could easily make one utilitarian face that displayed seconds. And/or make it a bottom-middle complication for the stopwatch and Activity Faces. It wouldn't look out of place there.
