The map is very accurate, but lacking in any run details. No mile markers or anything, but there are some varying colors that I assume are pace but it doesn't seem to map to my splits.

Hopefully that improves, or as @eyecripsy notes, some other 3rd party apps to help map and track things would be very useful.

Interesting. I can't wait to try it, but honestly, until it's more robust, i will probably stick with Strava or RK or something. RK was SO lousy for me on AW that I stopped using it but hoping I can go back to it. I guess there's always Nike+ as well.

Are there any other 3rd party apps for running that work well on Apple Watch?

For me on the first gen, the only one that has been largely reliable for me is Strava. Everything else crashes or doesn't update or locks up. Really disappointing.

So let's get this running group going. What's the best way to do that? Share our emails so we can all connect over activity sharing?

Cool. That's the one thing I will miss if I end up switching. Have a nice group of regulars that I regularly 'compete' with in weekly and daily challenges.

Can imore just set up a section where we can just dump our email it that's associated with our AW. That might be the easiest way.

We can certainly do that! Setup some sort of official thread to allow community members to join in the fun.

Looking forward to it. I'm sure there will be more ppl getting their watches soon. With series 1 and 2 out now and varying of prices more ppl will opt to buy. Make sure to link back here as well or even a small article would also gather attention.

It'll be several weeks for me since I've yet to place an order. But once mine arrives, I'm in. Let's figure out the logistics and make it happen!

That stinks... I'm nursing a minor knee injury but have an event next Saturday, so I have to push through it. I hope you're better soon!

Thanks. I also have an event next weekend. I will figure it out. Stumble through. Had my shin dry needled today. That was interesting.

    Yow! That doesn't sound pleasant!

My ortho noted that my knees were showing the initial stages of arthritis 4 years ago. But I think it's just my IT band this time (at least I hope so!)

I don't have an Apple Watch and usually don't run with my phone, but I'll be watching this thread. If there's a way I can join in, I will 😁 .

Maybe I'll pick up an original Apple Watch or something down the road.

Also, best of luck to everyone on the mend for a speedy recovery!

I typically have an Android Wear (AW) device on every day... So that would work for me 😁 Just Kidding.

Will have to pick up an Apple Watch one of these days 😎.

Maybe by PM...publicly posting email addresses will just open everyone up to all kinds of spam and undesirable people.
I'm fairly sure that platforms like Strava support the idea of groups which would be ideal - except the Strava app doesn't yet support the watch being a standalone GPS device. They say they're working on it but no idea if that means it imminent or months off
