I like the new additions, but not enough to replace my current Watch.
I have to agree. I just got my Gen1 Apple Watch, and it does what I need it to do. Actually excellent battery life too. I'll stick with my old watch for awhile...

I am dying to get one, so I can track swimming. But I just can't afford it without selling my series one steel, and it doesn't look like the market is too good for that. :'(

Yes, Apple made the new line-up more attractive for first-time buyers but for early adopters- not so much. But that's the price we pay. No pun intended.

I would have liked to see matt black ceramic or a vibrant red, being the most expensive watch model was to differentiate themselves from the palette of colors apple

The new Series 2 watches will be shipping with watchOS 3.
That actually makes more sense. I must have been drinking when I was viewing the show on the 7th!

I didn't really have interest in the series 1 apple watch, but with the gps and water resistance I now want to get one. Probably the Nike+ version, black and gray.

The Series 1 is not the Watch you're looking for.

You've described the new Series 2. That's what the Nike+ version is as well.

The Series 1 is just the previous Watch with the updated processor of the Series 2, and wOS3.

Series 1 is now using a dual-core S1P while the series 2 is using a dual-core S2. Any difference between them?

Mainly the GPS portion I believe. Maybe that also helps with allowing the screen to be brighter (not sure on this merely guessing; the GPU might be what allows this)...

So I can say the dual-core GPU in the series 2 is still more powerful than the dual-core GPU in the series 1?

I don't know what kind of magic Apple put into the s2 combined with watchOS 3.1b1, but my battery is AWESOME!!!

I charged the watch before bed to 100%. Went to bed at 10pm, put it in DnD and started Sleep Pulse 2. Woke up at 4:10am, stopped Sleep Pulse and turned off DnD. Went to the gym and tracked my workout for an hour. Came home and showered with the watch on so I could play with the water ejecting speaker, then headed off to work. It is now 4:00pm and my battery is at 78%. I have been texting and checking notifications all day long. Normally I would be right around 50% by now.

Very impressed and this is just the first beta

Then stick to it, I'm also sticking to my first gen AW as I also can't find any good reasons to upgrade.
