streaming stored video with new apple tv

I have a hard drive attached to my Time Capsule. I use an old Mac Mini to stream video to a flat screen attached to the MacMini. Any word on whether apple will allow apps on the Apple TV, like Files Connect, to stream video from a source on a local network through the Apple TV?

I'm not sure Apple has provided that information yet; however, maybe someone else will have some input.

Anyone have some inside information. I really like the new stuff on the Apple TV BUT I have a lot of content stored on a server. :-(

this is probably the most important feature to me. My stored content will be on a hard drive that's likely not networked so without USB storage support there was never a chance for appletv to be a good solution for me.
