AppleTV & Season Pass Purchase

If I buy a season pass for a tv show, when do episodes get released? Day after? For example if purchase TheWalkingDead, when does new episode drop?

The ones I've bought in the past are usually day after air... occasionally there are exceptions - two part episodes sometimes won't download until after part two airs and in the download they're combined as one continuous, longer episode on the season pass....
