Default Why I think an "iTV" will never happen.. and why it shouldn't...

A lot of talk about an iTV has been circulating in the blogosphere and I keep asking myself "why"?

First let me make something clear, apple definitely should and hopefully will get involved in TV services. There's a cable revolution brewing and a company like apple may be able to crack it! However, a dedicated TV would not really be the best route. Many people are still looking for the cheapest deals when buying TV's. TV's also have a much longer life. Apple is a software company that makes awesome hardware for their software. If apple were to make iTV their main tv platform the user base would not be nearly as high as having an apple set-top box. However, if apple created a set-top (or transformed Apple TV into one) than there would be little incentive to get an iTV. I hope apple just evolved Apple TV.
