Manual install... Download the ipsw for your version of the AppleTV

links in post#11...


Then... hook up your AppleTV to iTunes on computer with micro USB cable... when it shows up in iTunes as a device like your phone, on a PC hit shift+click the restore button... on mac option+click restore... navigate to the file downloaded above... let iTunes do its thing - then hook back up to your TV and set-up from there....

A "find"...

On the AppleTV... To rearrange your saved stations in iTunesRadio... with the remote, select one... then push&hold the select button... you get a 'wiggle mode' and can use the arrow controls on the remote to move the channel icon around... works on the main screen icons too... all but the top row...

And you can use the Parental Controls settings to hide the stuff you don’t want/will never use... Between the P/C setting and the ability to move icons around, it’s nearly perfect.

Now, all Apple needs to do is negotiate with DirecTV / ABC Properties so WE can get the channels we subscribe to via AppleTV... and then add an AppStore.

I just saw a post on one of the blogs that Apple has pulled the 6.0 update for Apple TV ...

"The update, which added support for iTunes Radio, podcast syncing, and AirPlay from iCloud, was reportedly pulled due to severe problems. This including instances where the update could brick an Apple TV."

Update is once again available...

2nd Gen AppleTV(2G) (AppleTV2,1) 6.0 (11A502)
3rd Gen AppleTV3,1 (AppleTV3,1) 6.0 (11A502)
3RD Gen Rev.A AppleTV3,2 (AppleTV3,2) 6.0 (11A502)

And if you had installed 6.0 prior to it being pulled, it should show up on the AppleTV as an available update... it did for me.

And of course, there is an update for my Apple TV OS 6.0 devices, as well. That’s a pretty big jump in build numbers... the pulled one was 11A470e all the way to 11A502...
