Assuming Apple ever decided to release a full on iTV television set, how much would you pay for it? High end Sony or Kuro prices? Or would it have to compete with budget Visios on the shelf?

What would make it worth a premium to you?

I would be willing to pay high end prices, but NOT the 5,000 dollar figure that has been speculated. A good high end Sony runs around 2000-3000. I would probably be interested if they came in under 3000, and better yet under 2500. :)

I'd have to be convinced that it would do something fundamentally different than the current AppleTV. The fact that I can outfit rooms with a $500 TV and a $100 Apple TV is just too compelling, once you have one room set up.

If it comes equip with everything it should have and a reasonable screen size I'd pay $2000. Heck, my LG HDTV was $1300 and it's only a 42"; has awesome specs and has a bunch of stuff on it but still. They'll have to do better than that.

Bit of a necro :) but definitely no more than $3,000. Unless apple included something that completely changed tv forever.

Not much. Not above a normal dumb LG 60" or something similar. The TV sets today are messed up with different crap and really bad remotes so Apple would really have to put out something revolutionary for me to even consider it.

Right now I rather have a thin and huge screen without anything else but On/off on the remote but can even remove that and let it turn on when my a/v receiver turns on. Everything is routed through there anyway. All that is going to the tv is one hdmi and power.
