I know, this is the AppleTV-2 Forum, but there's no AppleTV-1 Forum... so I'm posting here...
Seems that since sometime in late October, purchases downloaded from the iTunes store on a computer and synced to an AppleTV-1 will give an error when trying to play the movie, or TV show...
The Workaround: from the AppleTV's iTunes store menus - go into movies, and "buy" something... like the free "Truth In Motion"... this apparently makes a connection to iTunes' DRM servers and fixes the stuff that doesn't want to play... I have two season passes for TV shows, and episodes since late Oct. wouldn't play for me... buying "Truth In Motion" on the AppleTV-1 made it work. Go figure....
