I am a working artist in the music so streaming videos from youtube for fun, entertainment and learning would be great!
Watching movies and not have to search for the dvd-disc or the stupid play button on most systems (some remotes are just to complicated!) would be great for many filmnights with my friends!
Apple would bring a whole new experiance to my life.

I have been planning on getting an Apple TV, as it will make mine, and the wife's life a whole lot easier, as our down syndrome girl is quite demanding when it comes to watching her favorite TV shows, she's madly into fashion, and being able to simply select and pay 99 cent for the TV show she wants, its a godsend.

I need a second one cause the first one is so nice, I don't want to have to unplug it to use in the other room.

I need (no deserve) an Apple TV because I'm completely outnumbered! I have a wonderful wife, and 3 little girls. At some point I'll have 3 teenage girls (at the same time).
I have an iPhone (3G) and never get the newest of anything.
I would use it to stream my iTunes content to my TV and entertain my children so I can have a few precious moments of sanity!

I'd love an Apple TV just for AirPlay. Especially since I'm in the UK, Netflix and TV rentals aren't available.
Consider that for music streaming, before the Apple TV, you needed an £70 AirPort Express. For just £99, you can have the addition of video streaming and the other cool stuff. Plus you get a cool remote, that you can buy standalone for £15 anyway.
So yes I'd love an Airport Video, courtesy of TIPB, which is what the Apple TV means to me.

why i want the apple t.v.
My family and I used to have on demand from comcast a few years back and i remembered loving it. Unfortunately, for whatever reason it broke and after Comcast failed to fix it after the third visit we just gave up. Part of the reason i loved comcast was, I was able to watch popular shows and movies just days after they aired. Yea, I know it sounds selfish.
I tried using the internet, but i guess because i still use xp streaming videos has become just a mess- only working occasionally with a few sites (except youtube that always works)- and forget about viewing things in HD.
I want the Apple t.v. because I love movies- I love being able to watch movies immediately after they are released on video and commercial free. Plus i'd love to able to watch hd programming. Plus it has plenty other cool features too.
I'm sure my parents would love it to, but for $250 plus on an air conditioner repairman's salary, tuition fee for school, taxes, and mortgage for our apartment? Not a chance.

Several uses are intriguing, mostly stream movies from my imac or macbook to our main TV. Watch picture slides shows and home made movies. Can't wait for Apps to get on it and I hope I can use my ipad to stream music from itunes sharing to our main home stereo.

I would love to have an Apple TV so I could stop having to hookup my Macbook Pro every time I want to watch something on our big screen, and Netflix is another great feature, plus AirPlay is going to be awesome, and to possibly be able to jailbreak it! now where talking.

As the tech source for my extended family, I need an AppleTV to show people how cool the AirPlay feature is. Then they'll all want one.

I will tell you why I really want it. Not some lame excuse. I want it because my wife hogs the damn IPAD. Maybe if I could put on a movie or tv show she might get off the damn thing and let me use it. Cable isn't enough for her at this time of her addiction phase.

I think the new apple Tv's greatest feature is airplay, especially from the iPhone. The ability to stream content and control it from your phone is amazing. If used correctly, airplay could theoretically be used as a wireless external display, beaming content from games, videos, or other apps to your apple tv.

I would LOVE to have the Apple Tv because i love everything Apple and definitely everything IOS4.
I have my macbook pro, my Iphone4, Ipod touch for the family because i am in the AirForce so the ipod touch i bought them gives them the ability to FaceTime me while i am away, and i also have an ipad.
I love reading up on all the products, learning about them, my plan is to one day work for Apple so owning everything i can and learning about it is essential!
I love the Apple Tv, i always have parties, so being able to play my music using Airplay on my loud tv speakers would be great! I am a Netflix member, and every weekend me and my other friends get together and we buy a movie from Itunes and watch it, Apple tv wold make all this so much simpler!
Thank you for this contest! This website is phenomenal!!!

I want to live the APPLE AMERICAN DREAM! I want all apple products in my home: iMac, Macbook, iPhone, iPad, AppleTV, Airport Extreme, etc. I just can't afford it right now but someday I will. I have hope. My wife and I really love watching movies so it would be perfect because we wouldn't have to worry about going to blockbuster and them not having the movie we want because they're all rented out. So we would have iTunes rentals and purchases and NetFlix too. Thanks and good luck to everyone

Gotta have it
I want one because my three-year-old daughter loves shows like Dora the Explorer and Blues Clues. I can't bring myself to buy DVDs of those shows so I stream them on Netflix to my MacBook, which has a video-out to my TV. With Apple TV I can stream right to the television or use airstream for content.

What about UPnP/DLNA?
I'll not choose Apple TV by the fact it is not compliant with DLNA. Why is Apple moving away from the standards? Stream is everything.
