Me not so much, I want a Mac badly!!!

Are there any mac's out there that compare evenly both in price and specs so I can say hey look at this mac its the same but better because it's a mac.

It will be mostly used for the following:

Office
Web Surfing
Quicken
AutoCAD

Thanks to all!

Does your wife want the PC because it's cheaper or because she is a Windows user? If the latter then maybe you can convince her to get a Mac and run windows via bootcamp or VM, that way you both win.

I would get the PC to make the wife happy.
If possible maybe somewhere down the line you can get yourself a Mac.

I should preface this by saying I've never used a Mac... But I would try to get her in front of one. Just encourage her to actually look at it and try it.

I would guess there's going to be a HUGE price difference though so if that's an issue you might as well give in now. Just be sure you tell her it's because you want her to be happy, that way you look like a good guy. :)

I finally broke down and got my MacBook Pro a couple of years ago and I can safely say I will never go back, never. But as others have stated it may be wise to satisfy the wife...

I just got my 15" Mbp from Best Buy for $1169 open box. I know it is over $900 but still an awesome deal. Look around.

Get a Mac and make a deal with her that you'll return it if she doesn't like it. Let her use it for a few days, and she'll never want to touch a windows again!

Why don't you get the Mac and just Bootcamp into Windows so your wife gets Windows. Or use a virtual Machine like Parallels so she gets Windows?

As she put it. She could careless about the operating system as all it does for her is launch autocad where she spends 99% of her time. She wants a large screen, good specs to run autocad/revit, and a fair price.

Needless to say I'm picking up the Lenovo tonight.

It's been 7+ years since our last laptop purchase (PC). Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised!
