My iPad has not backed up in 3 months. It says not enough storage ! What is going on?

My ipad has not backed up in 3 months. It says "not enough storage" !

It says I do not have enough storage...but when I click on ipad storage it says, used: 20.9 GB, Available 34.5 and total storage 200 with 189 GB available. What is going on??
This does not add up!

Welcome to iMore! You don't offer enough information for anyone to know what is going on. But I would start by plugging the iPad to iTunes on your computer and checking how much "other" is on it. Then restore to delete it off. Other than that it's hard to say. Maybe if we knew more.
