Why does my iPad show saved to camera roll when it does not exist

I tap and hold a pic to save and once completed my phone iPad says it has been saved to camera roll but that does not exist on my iPad. I cannot find the saved photo anywhere on my iPad.

Sounds like your ipad is running an old version of iOS.
Update your software and you'll have your camera roll again.
The photos are still there in the photos app, they're under the photos section since camera roll isn't there.
