Why can't my iPad find a printer?

I pad not find printer

My iPad cannot find printer, it has in the past, had trouble yesterday but after switching off everything and rebooting it worked. Today despite trying this several times it still won't find my printer

Is your Wi-Fi connection working properly? Is the Wi-Fi router recognizing the printer and/or iPad?

Regularly have this problem,don't know why. I have the Epson app as my printer is not one of the AirPrint ones. The only thing that works is to unplug and re- plug the router, even though printer, router and phone all say they are ready to go. The real pain is that printer recognition even after re-starting router is not immediate, it might take half an hour or more.
