App updates stall out
I have two updates that have been showing as "installing" for days and days now. Facebook and Shazam. I turned the phone off and back on again, but they are stuck in the installation process. What do I do to get them to finish or go away? Thanks so much!

Re: App updates stall out
Thanks so much for the tip Peligro911. However, all that does for me is give me the slider option to power off, which I have done several times. I l still have Shazam and Facebook app updates in perpetual installing mode......

Re: App updates stall out
If you are getting the slider then you're not doing what Peligro was suggesting. You need to hold both the Home button and the power button down until the screen goes black. Then let it sit for like a minute and then hold the power until you see the Apple logo.
If that doesn't work try the following:
1.Open the task switcher: Double tap the home button
Tap and hold on an app until they all have the red cancel icon and look for App Store icon and quit it
Reboot the iPhone open the App Store icon and restart the updates
2. Open the folders and tap the apps so they switch from loading to waiting
Reboot the phone and then see if the apps start updating
3. Turn the Wifi/Data off
Reboot
Turn Data and Wifi back on see if the apps update
4. Turn the Wifi/Data off
Open the task switcher: Double tap the home button
Tap and hold on an app until they all have the red cancel icon and look for App Store icon and quit it
Reboot
Open the App Store icon and restart the updates
Finally
Open the task switcher: Double tap the home button
Tap and hold on an app until they all have the red cancel icon and look for App Store icon and quit it
Turn off the phone and let it sit for an hour or two
Power on and try to do the updates againcan't upgrade via iTunes check this thread http://forum.tipb.com/jailbreak-unlo...ml#post1717460

App updates stall out
^ That's a whole lot of effort for something as simple as an update. I had that happen to me with one of my apps not too long ago and all I did was delete the app and do the update in iTunes followed by a sync.

Re: App updates stall out
I'm trying to give the OP a whole bunch of options. If the OP tries what you did and it doesn't work then they are back on the forums asking for help again. Instead if I give them 4 different things that have worked for me in the past any one of the four might work and saves them frustration.

Re: App updates stall out
Thanks so much everyone. Finally got it straightened out. A combination of things from lpueria, Peligro911 and Angelo_Campher did the trick. I'm not exactly sure of all the steps I took, but a combination of pressing buttons on the phone, re-starting the phone and syncing with iTunes on the computer finally did it. Hope every one has a great weekend!
