New AirPods firmware released today

If anyone missed it, Apple just released version 3.5.1 firmware for the AirPods. Not sure what it will address but hopefully the periodic connection problems.

For someone who has not received theirs yet how does this work. You update your phone? How do you update the air pods?

Put AirPods in the case and put case on charger. Keep phone in range and AirPods paired to the phone. It will automatically update on its own within a few mins.

Ok, not sure if this is coincidence or not, but my AirPods have been flawless all day. Including the right one that I've had fairly consistent activation problems with. They've both connected 100% of the time today hopefully the firmware update did something with connectivity because I'm loving them even more now
