How long are you using a earphone before your ear feel uncomfortable

I like to listen to the musics with my earphones anytime anywhere.

However my ears feels uncomfortable after 20 minutes.
How long can you listen?

It seems that the over headphone are better.
The Apple earphone and sony earphone also make me uncomfortable.

Do you have any good brands to recommend ?

If you have decent earphones, you can have them in as long as you want. Just try some on in stores which suits you best.

For me: I've had mine in for over 5 hours once, but stock  EarPods where hurting after 30 mins or so

I've had my BOSE earbuds in for several hours while talking on the phone and listening to music. Bose are very comfortable. The Apple stock earbuds, I can only keep those in for approx 30 minutes at a time.

Everyone has different ears. Apple earbuds are the only buds I can use for long stretches. For all day use I use Bose over the ear headphones. On ear headphones are uncomfortable to me very quickly.

I've used the Apple earbuds for 6 - 8 hours without any problem.

I tried natural wooden earphones yesterday. It seems to be better.

Oh I can use the new ear buds for hours. Even fall asleep while wearing them. The old ones I couldn't stand. And the ones with the soft plastic make my ears itch.

Sennheiser is a good option. Koss too. I also tried a brand called Creative - and my ears in them are ok for 2-3 hours.
