Apple Smart case Leather Cover for iPad Air 2

I'm on my 2nd Apple Smart case leather in Olive Brown. Both covers have developed a darker area on the front left upper corner. Has anyone else had this problem. My local Apple Store replaced the first one.

I don't have an iPad Air 2, but I didn't experience anything like that with the Smart Cover I had for my iPad 2. Hopefully, those with an iPad Air 2 and an associated Smart Cover will respond soon.

I have a Smart Cover for my iPad Air 2 in black and have zero discoloration. It looks like a water/wet/sweat mark (like something was spilled on it). Do you routinely hold your case in that particular spot?

I know their leather cases show wear and tear over time but that looks strange to me.
