I'm trying to find a good messenger bag that is on the smaller, but thicker front. Honestly, I'd say a purse, but I'm a guy, and that would be weird.

I'm trying to fit:
iPad Mini w/Retina in a Speck folio
Beats on-ear headphones
Small battery (Jackery Bar)
and a few cables.

My backpack carries it all, but all includes my laptop, chargers, Airport Express, and several items that I don't need on recreational ventures.

Any suggestions are appreciated. My goal is big enough, but not a full size messenger bag.

Thanks to you,
XC

I take it you can't remove the items that you don't need from your backpack?

It's not that I can't. My backpack is an Incase "Premium" backpack. It is large, and has great compartmentalization for my gear during working hours.

I'm looking for something much smaller to carry a few entertainment items with me.
Thinking about the Small or X-Small version of this:
Amazon.com: Timbuk2 Classic Messenger Bag: Clothing
Leaning more toward the X-Small.

Just about anything would work, but I want to carry the Beats headphones with me. They are great for drowning out surroundings. And for a free pair of headphones (gift), they are great.

Take a look at some Kenneth Cole messenger bags. I've used one for years and it still looks great.
