I just modified my iHome clock radio to suit the new lightening connector, the iHome design made it quite easy, you just need a apple 30 pin the lightening 200mm adaptor lead. Open the iHome up, the iHome 30 pin is connected via a ribbon cable that you can connect to the apple adaptor and it all hides inside. ImageUploadedByiMore Forums1352241822.308437.jpg

Nice work! I think you need a 3.5mm connector for audio when using the lightning connector for anything which does audio though, that's why the headphone socket is on the bottom now.

I am able to get audio on my Sony clock radio by just using the 30 pin to Lighting adapter, no 3.5mm connector needed.

That's cool, perhaps they use the 3.5mm connector to hold the thing more firmly in place then, like with the old iPod Shuffle.

Hi have performed a similar mod on my car cradle with a lightening USB lead. USB for charging audio via Bluetooth. I haven't tried the audio on the iHome as only finished the mod late last night Australia time. Will give it a go tonight.ImageUploadedByiMore Forums1352256903.328800.jpg

The iHome has a ribbon cable to male 30 pin adaptor, removed the attachment bracket that fixes it to the iHome body. Plug the apple 30 pin to Lightning cable adaptor to the iHome 30 pin male plug.
