Default Otterbox Reflex or Otterbox Commuter?

I want a case that will protect my phone without being super duper bulky. I had a skullcandy case I really liked, but its camera cut out was poorly designed so if you used the flash, it turned the pictures red (the color of the case). Currently I have an Ozaki iCoat Backbone. It really looks awesome, it looks like dark wood and I love it. But the kickstand on the back is poorly designed and doesn't snap flush like it should when closed. This is a really minor thing really, but due to the type of person I am it really, really bothers me. So I have finally broken down and decided I will get an OtterBox because they have a good reputation. I don't want an impact because i despise silicone cases. So that leaves me with either a Reflex or a Commuter. Which would you choose? Input from owners (particularly if you have had both) is greatly appreciated. Or any other case suggestions? I'm also considering an Incipio Edge or Seidio Innocase but neither of them have as good of reviews on multiple sites as the OtterBox Cases.

I have owned both Otterboxes. The Reflex peeled up my screen protector and fits very tight. Hard to get on and off on white iPhone. I love the Commuter. Have 2 as I like them so much.

I can't comment on the reflex as I've never tried one. The one feature I do like on it is the rubber siding on the back so it prevents sliding if you have it on a slippery surface. I do own a commuter case and I like it a lot. Good protection and not much bulk to it.

I had the Commuter Case for my iPhone 4 before selling it and getting the Mophie Juice Pack Air for my 4S. The Commuter Case provided great protection with minimal bulk. I dropped my 4 numerous times with the Commuter Case on it and it kept it well protected. It also slid easily in and out of my pocket. I can't comment on the Reflex Case but highly recommend the Otterbox Commuter.

Get a LifeProof man. Not bulky not silicon, stylish and fully ( and I mean 100%) protected.

The life proof is like $70. The others I have mentioned are all under $30 on amazon. I only plan on using this phone for a few months (getting next iPhone of it is lte, windows phone if not).

Well If you want your phone to look brand new when you resell it and add a few dollars cause the case is included then I'd still go for it but it's all personal choice.

Agreed about the Reflex. It peeled my protector up on the back also. I highly recommend the Commuter as I also have 2 of them, I also recommend the speck candyshell.

All that is true, and I think the Lifeproof case is worth it, but I just don't have $70 to use on a case. $35 is my max.

The LifeProof does look nice. I have always been a fan of the Defender. Recently though I have been using my Commuter with a Zagg Shield on the front and back. That way I get Drop protection and Scratch protection. That way my iP4 will remain looking as good as New!

Fair enough. It's a shame cause they are da bomb.

I highly recommend if you go commuter with a white silcone you get one made for JUST the 4... Still fits good and the silcone won't turn yellow or dirty like 2 I've had of the new model

And, I'm not trying to push my preference on others, so I've got no reason to go and join an android forum to talk about how awesome iPhone is. That's like going to a KKK meeting and trying to show people the latest queen latifah movie...

I had the commuter but didn't like the loose rubber so I went with a speck which seems to have pretty damn good grip it seems.

Otterbox are good but have you looked at the Trident Krakin AMS
I have the Defender but I like the Krakin it has the silicon on the inside and the plastic is on the outside. The Krakin AMS has a kick stand that can be removed and replaced with other accessories like a tripod mount. Here is there website tridentcase.com

I actually was looking at the trident cases last night and was torn between the ams, the kraken ii, and the cyclops ii or the original cyclops

I over researched and finally decided on the OB Reflex...and I regret it.

It looks nice, seems like it would provide good protection but it is a very tight fit ( peeled up a part of my screen protector, and scratched the side (silver) of my phone....and I only had it on a day. I can just imagine how scratched it would be if I used it for docking purposes, which was one of my main reasons for picking this case.

The one thing with the reflex that turned me away was having to take off the bottom to charge and be afraid of it scratching g
