Are car chargers hard on the battery

I'm looking for a good car charger for my new iphone 4s. Ive been looking at the belkins and griffins and others that are on the apple store. My question is, are these chargers that charge the battery faster also hard on the battery and shorten the life of the battery?

anyone have any info on this? I would like to buy a charger but want to make sure i buy one that doesn't harm the phone.

You can buy a car charger adapter and use your sync cable. That's what I do. I have 3 sync cables from former iPods that died.

No. The device will pull what it needs. It's not going to use more current than it is designed to.

You can buy a car charger adapter and use your sync cable. That's what I do. I have 3 sync cables from former iPods that died.

Ditto. I bought one at Walmart an use the sync cable that came with the phone

Just stay away from those no name brand ones sold on eBay and you should be fine.

Fortunately for my wife her Subaru has built in iPod integration so she just plugs in her's using the standard sync cable.

I have one that came from Verizon when I bought my iPhone 4 works good .. I also have a power inverter mounted under my seat just incase I want to change a laptop / iPad or whatever else I want .
