Smart Cover usability

I was thinking about getting the smart cover but I was wondering how it would endure while keeping the iPad with the smart cover in backpack or carrying it around in your hand.

are the magnets that attach to the screen strong enough to not be flimsy when walking around with it or putting it in a backpack filled with books?

I have not had any issues with my cover as far as the magnets go. I do however have an issue with the cover staying open. I have to fold it in have behind the iPad to keep it from flopping. Also the screen gets lines from the cover, minor annoyance.

Thanks for the reply, I also would find the lines from the cover annoying. I guess I'll just have to try it and see if I like it.
