Still searching for the perfect case?

I am. I've been through plenty so far (see my blog) and I'm still yet to find one that I'm 100% satisfied with. Despite a lot of negatives by users of the SwitchEasy Nude, it still ranks above anything else I've tried to date. However, it's still not satisfied my case needs enough. It only offers minimal protection really, and I don't think it'd do much against a drop.

So the quest goes on. I'm still hopeful for one of Otterbox's offerings (not the Defender, that's waaaay too OTT protection for me) but maybe the Commuter.

However, that said, my quest this time round seems to be in finding something minimalistic as the iPhone 4 you feel like you really don't want to hide away in a case, whereas before with my 3GS I didn't care too much about having it out on display, I just went for all over protection. It's a different ball game with the iPhone 4 and case manufacturers are obviously aware of this as this years theme does seem to be in slimmer fitting cases.

I still can't believe that two months+ on and some of the big names are still yet to release cases for iPhone 4.

So what has everyone settled on, and why?

Does the Nude provide any relief for the screen? That is, if you lay the phone screen-side down, is the screen touching the surface it's resting on or is it raised up a bit?

For now, I'm settled with the SGP Skin Guard in black leather with a Steinheil Ultra Crystal Protection film. I purchased them from CreTouch.

Quite disappointed with the lack of quality case options..

Seems like a lot of manufacturers are holding off on designing iPhone 4 cases because so many people don't want to cover its pretty looks up, lol!

Blame Gizmodo. Had they not puked pictures of the stolen prototype all over the internet to get page views, manufacturers would have had specs in their hands and ready to have their cases out shortly after launch. Instead, Apple went into lockdown and no case manufacturers were able to get ready.

i believe they're discussing iPhone 4 cases.. but that does look like an awesome iPad case...

Personally, i just picked up the iFrogz Luxe case... pretty nice, and doesnt allow the screen to touch a surface when face down... although for the rich ones out there, the VaporCase by ElementCase looks sick, althought, you probably need a case for the case on that one...

I wanted protection but I looked for something that wouldnt take too much away from the iPhone's sleek design. I did the same looking for a screen saver that wouldnt take away from it as well as protecting it. i aslor wanted something that wasnt a bumber along with something that allowed you to see the metal siding. I just wanted the case to protect the glass backing from scratching. This case probably wouldnt protect much from a serious blow but it would protect from the elements. I got the Sonix snap case with an ultra clear screen saver...cant even tell I have a screen saver. The two were the best I could find for what I wanted. Here is a review below.
