Why can't the home button be used to answer calls on the iPhone?

In bright sunlight, or when I'm in a hurry, this would be extremely helpful! Currently, when the phone rings, pressing the home button has no action associated with it. So it's available!

Well, that's the way it is. The home button does not answer calls on the iPhone. Maybe one day it will, but until then.....

Just converted from Android, not above going back if necessary...

It's just one of the differences between platforms. I never even thought about that. I don't have issues answering the phone in sunlight or darkness. I know where the button is to answer, even if I can't see it. You'll get used to it after a while. When I used my Wife's Android months ago, the back button confused me. LOL
